PORTLAND, Oregon (June 30, 2011) –
The state of Oregon and the Democratic Party of Oregon have lost a great public servant in Betty Roberts. Her contributions to the state are manyfold and her legacy will be long lasting.
"She was a hero to the women of our state, both Republican and Democratic, and led the way for all of us" said Meredith Wood Smith. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family."
A public memorial for Betty Roberts will take place on today at 4 p.m. on the third floor of Portland State University's Smith Memorial Student Union.
