Hillsboro, OR — Today, the Democratic Party of Oregon joined with other grassroots activists to protest the extreme policies of Ron DeSantis and Christine Drazan during their joint fundraising event in Hillsboro.
Drazan, who has been attempting to hide her conservative record, joined MAGA extremist Ron DeSantis for a fundraiser in Hillsboro. The Democratic Party of Oregon was joined by grassroots organizations including representatives from Latino Network, We The People Tigard, and the Washington County chapter of Indivisible.
Speakers highlighted Drazan and DeSantis’s alignment with Trump’s MAGA agenda on issues that included immigration and vote-by-mail.
“As Governor, [Ron DeSantis] rolled out the red carpet for ICE in Florida, fast-tracking the construction of ‘Alligator Alcatraz,’ essentially a concentration camp for ICE victims,” said Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz. “This is who Christine Drazan brought to Oregon to stand by her side on the campaign trail this week. And let’s not forget, Christine Drazan called the people standing up to Trump’s attacks on our immigrant friends, family and neighbors ‘violent mobs and domestic terrorists.’”
“When Christine Drazan was in the legislature, she introduced a bill that would have completely overwritten Oregon’s vote-by-mail system, and made in-person voting the new default method,” said Oregon State Representative Travis Nelson. “Oregon has had safe, reliable vote-by-mail for nearly three decades. The system has been audited by Republican and Democratic Secretaries of State, with no evidence of widespread voter fraud.”
