Hillsboro, OR — Yesterday, the Democratic Party of Oregon joined other grassroots organizations to protest Christine Drazan’s fundraiser with MAGA extremist Ron DeSantis.
Dozens of protesters outside of the event were joined by Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz and Oregon State Representative Travis Nelson, who spoke about Drazan’s extremist record – including her support for Trump sending in federal troops last year, as well as her attacks on Oregon’s vote-by-mail system. The speakers outlined how both Drazan and DeSantis have been in lock-step with the MAGA wing of the Republican party, and how their policies would be harmful to Oregon families.

- Democrats spoke out today against Christine Drazan’s decision to campaign alongside Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in Hillsboro.
- The Latino Network Action Fund condemned the appearance, pointing to DeSantis’s record on immigration and LGBTQ+ issues, and alongside the Democratic Party of Oregon, they held their own rally in response.
- Democratic Party Chair Nathan Soltz: “Trump’s values, DeSantis’s values, are not Oregon values, and that is what Christine Drazan is aligning herself with.”
