Trump’s War in Iran Sends Oregon Gas Prices Up Nearly a Dollar Per Gallon

Mar 26, 2026

Portland, OR – As Donald Trump’s illegal and reckless war of choice with Iran wages on, everyday Oregonians are struggling to afford the soaring cost of gas. In Oregon, gas prices are now $4.86 a gallon, a 24% increase since Trump started his war on Iran last month.

A reminder: Every single major poll has shown Americans largely disapprove of Trump’s illegal war in Iran, which is costing U.S. taxpayers nearly $1 billion a day.

In response, Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz released the following statement:

“Pissed off about the price at the pump? Thank Donald Trump. Instead of delivering on his promise to lower costs, Donald Trump has plunged the country into another reckless, costly and illegal war of choice without an end in sight. For months, Oregonians have been struggling to afford the basics as they face higher gas, health care, and grocery costs — and now, they are footing the bill for his war, too. As Trump spends his time focused on waging wars, golfing at Mar-a-Lago, and building gilded ballrooms, Oregon Democrats are fighting to bring down costs for working families, protect access to essential services, and defend our right to free and fair elections.”
