Seven Black women state party chairs to be honored during DNC

This unprecedented feat reflects the growing force women of color bring to shaping democracy

Chicago, Illinois – The Black Political Excellence Fund will host a reception during the 2024 Democratic National Convention to celebrate seven Black women now serving as State Party Chairs, the highest number in the history of the Association of State Democratic Committees (ASDC). Notably, they are the first Black women to hold the position in their respective states, underscoring the pivotal role the increasingly active voter bloc will play in shaping the future of American politics this November.
