Portland, OR — As Christine Drazan continues her desperate attempts to avoid accountability for her terrible record on data centers, here is a reminder that she has repeatedly, vocally opposed efforts to regulate them.

  • Drazan voted against the POWER Act which cut electricity rates for renters and homeowners while requiring data centers to pay for rising utility costs
  • Drazan has opposed what she calls “arbitrary moratoriums” on the construction of new data centers, seemingly contradicting previous statements supporting local control when it comes to data center construction.
  • Additionally, during her 2022 campaign, Drazan was asked point blank if she would support restrictions on water allocations for large users, including data centers. Her response? “Additional restrictions on water rights are not the answer.”

“Christine Drazan had opportunity after opportunity to stand up against data centers, and every time, she chose not to,” said Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz. “Pretending to oppose them now that she’s running for statewide office is a blatant attempt to mislead voters on her record. ‘Data Center Drazan’ will always side with data centers over Oregon families.”
