VIDEO: Kennedy retirement raises the stakes — Women of Oregon can’t trust Buehler

PORTLAND — The Democratic Party of Oregon released a video today warning Oregonians that the recently announced retirement of Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy jeopardizes access to safe, legal abortion, and that Republican Knute Buehler — when given the chance to protect access — took a dangerous gamble in 2017 and voted no.

“Governor Brown saw the writing on the wall when Trump was elected. She fought to pass the Reproductive Health Equity Act in 2017 precisely to enshrine the right to safe, legal abortion in our state,” said Brad Martin, Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Oregon.

“Buehler’s ‘no’ vote against protecting access to abortion and other women's health care in the era of Trump makes his position very clear — he can’t be trusted to stand up for women’s health and rights.”

The video released today highlights Republican gubernatorial nominee Knute Buehler’s vote against ensuring access to safe, legal abortion.
