PORTLAND, Oregon (May 12, 2014) –
Monica Wehby is dodging debates. Last month, she refused a request to debate her opponent Jason Conger in what was to be the only televised debate of the GOP primary. KGW Executive News Director Rick Jacobs said, “it's been a long time since we've been turned down by a major-race candidate. I can't remember the last time it's happened.” The Oregonian Editorial Board said "wimping out in this fashion will simply call attention to her one significant weakness as a candidate, which is a lack of legislative experience that might make her seem unprepared for elective office."
Here are the facts. Monica Wehby hasn’t attended a debate since March. It’s been over a month since she has sat down with her opponents in a debate setting and argued over who hates the Affordable Care Act the most.
