Portland, Ore. — Today, Meredith Wood Smith, Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon, released the following statement after it was reported that Mitt Romney would not participate in a GOP presidential debate scheduled for March 19 in Portland:
“We had hoped to hear that Mitt Romney had something, anything to offer Oregonians. Instead, we got exactly what the rest of middle-class America can expect from Romney: lip service now and the promise of answers tomorrow.
“Sadly, it seems Oregon’s trees are not the right height for Mitt Romney.”
