Tonight at the nominating convention in Salem, Democratic Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs) from House District 21 elected four candidates for the County Commissioners of Marion County to consider to fill the legislative vacancy in House District 21. Departing Rep. Brian Clem was in attendance and the proceedings were filled with heartfelt expressions of gratitude for his dedication and service to the district over nearly 15 years.

In alphabetical order, the candidates are: Chris Hoy, Nancy MacMorris-Adix, Kasia Quillinan, and Virginia Stapleton. The PCPs decided not to rank the candidates.

PCPs were required by Oregon statute to select at least three candidates. The names of the four candidates will be forwarded to the Marion County Commissioners. The Commissioners will meet this month to select one of these candidates to fill the vacancy.
