The Democratic Party of Oregon State Central Committee, the Party’s governing body, approved an emergency resolution today amidst ongoing negotiations over President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda in Washington, DC.
In House Energy and Commerce Committee proceedings on September 15, 2021, Rep. Kurt Schrader voted against a provision allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices. In response, the State Central Committee has passed a resolution calling on him to reverse course, identifying specific support for the policy in both the national and state Democratic Party platforms, along with public polling data showing strong and broad-based support.
