Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Carla “K.C.” Hanson released the following statement on the results of the Oregon Democratic Secretary of State race:
“Congratulations to Senator Shemia Fagan, our Democratic nominee for Oregon Secretary of State! Democrats are ready to get to work and win back the Secretary of State’s office and Shemia Fagan has the determination and vision to lead us to victory. Oregon has already set the standard for other states with vote-by-mail and automatic voter registration. With Shemia Fagan as our next Secretary of State, we will continue in this proud tradition of expanding access to the ballot.
“We also want to thank Senator Mark Hass and Jamie McLeod-Skinner. Campaigning is hard work, made even more challenging with this current pandemic, but all of our candidates creatively adapted to put public health and safety first. The week’s record voter turnout is a testament to the hard work of our candidates, County Democratic Parties, progressive organizations, and volunteers from all corners of the state.”
