PORTLAND — Democratic Party of Oregon Chair KC Hanson joined fifty State Democratic Party Chairs from across the United States, the U.S. Territories, and Democrats Abroad today, signing on to a letter urging swift action from federal and state elected officials to protect our voting infrastructure from the coronavirus.

“Oregon is well known as a trailblazer in expanding voter access,” said Carla “KC” Hanson, Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon. “As more states get with the program, we’re proof positive that voting by mail is safe, secure, and popular with voters.”
Oregonians have been voting by mail for well over two decades. It is now one of five states that conduct all elections entirely by mail.
“States must do everything within their power to ensure that all voters have access to the ballot this election cycle,” said Hanson. “Fair and free elections are a cornerstone of our democracy, and protecting our democracy has never been more important than in these uncertain times.”
