Portland, OR – Last week, Diehl announced that he was “honored” to receive the sole endorsement from the far-right, MAGA-aligned gun owner’s PAC Oregon Firearms Federation (OFF). OFF announced the endorsement in a press release on their website, where they also proudly boast about their efforts to defeat “constant attempts to ban guns anywhere school children gather.”
OFF’s endorsement was also accompanied by a $20,000 contribution to Diehl’s campaign.
Notably, OFF’s announcement highlighted that Diehl “sought out” their endorsement. According to the OFF website, the organization describes itself as “Oregon’s Only No Compromise Gun Rights Organization,” positioning itself even further right than leading conservative gun advocacy groups like the NRA – a perfect match for Oregon’s most conservative GOP candidate.
“In a crowded GOP primary race that continues to get even uglier as candidates push further and further to the right, it comes as no surprise that Diehl sought out an endorsement from one of the most out of touch, right wing groups in the state,” said Federico Araujo, DPO Communications Advisor. “With endorsements from OFF and Oregon Right to Life, Diehl has cemented himself as the clear MAGA-aligned GOP candidate in Oregon.”
