Portland, OR — Following news today of the passing of legendary country singer and philanthropist Dolly Parton, Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz released the following statement:
“Oregon Democrats join people all over the world in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton. She showed the world what it meant to use fame and fortune for good. Her legacy lives on in Oregon and other states through her music as well as her many philanthropic contributions, including the Imagination Library, providing free books every month to children. She was an icon in so many ways. May her memory be a blessing.”
