Regional Field Organizer

The Democratic Party of Oregon is hiring experienced, top-quality Field Organizers for its campaign for important races in 2024. We are interviewing candidates and hiring immediately with an immediate start date. 

  • An ideal candidate is friendly, highly organized, detail-oriented and a responsible self-starter who is eager to work on this historic campaign cycle, and who is willing to adapt to a changing campaign climate. The Field Organizer may be required to travel throughout the State of Oregon to meet with and train volunteers.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting, training, and supporting Neighborhood Leaders as part of the DPO’s Neighborhood Leader Program.
  • Reach volunteer recruitment goals by recruiting, mobilizing and training volunteers into DPO and Coordinated Campaign Events
  • Planning and hosting Virtual Phone bank events
  • Planning and hosting canvassing events

Preferred:

  • Experience working for or volunteering on political campaigns.
  • Experience with Voter Activation Network (VAN) or VoteBuilder.

Required:

  • Enthusiasm for Democratic politics.
  • Great time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to train and instruct volunteers.
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in setting and achieving measurable targets, managing teams, and coordinating between multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple priority projects and meet established timelines.
  • Ability to meet strategic goals and work effectively with regional and local leaders.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. 
  • Reliable Transportation

Please note, this position is a campaign cycle position. You will be expected to work at least 40 hours per week, but may work as many as 60 hours a week as we get closer to election day. Schedules will be provided to employees at least 2 weeks in advance and will require evening and weekend work. All employees will have a guaranteed 1 day off per week.

This is a full-time position, with an immediate start date. Benefits include a phone stipend, fully paid health, vision, and dental coverage, and mileage reimbursement for qualifying travel.  Wage is $23-$25 hour, based on work experience. This position is overtime eligible. This position is represented by The Campaign Workers Guild.  At the conclusion of this temporary employment you will receive severance equal to half (0.5) of a regular pay period. This position will end November 10th.
