Join the Election Protection Program

The Democratic Party of Oregon’s Election Protection Program has recruited, trained, and deployed thousands of volunteers since 2006 to observe ballot processing and tallying in county elections offices and help ensure our elections comply with state laws, rules, and regulations.

The good news is that Oregon’s Vote by Mail system is safe and secure thanks to the professionalism and dedication of our County Clerks and election workers.

The bad news is that in 2026, Oregon faces an unprecedented threat of election disruption and interference from our own federal government.

President Trump has threatened to end Vote by Mail by decree. His MAGA allies have openly discussed sending armed federal agents into blue states, raising serious concerns about intimidation of election workers and voters. Across the country, we are seeing escalating attacks on the people and systems that make free and fair elections possible.

That is why we are growing our teams of Volunteer Election Observers to monitor county elections offices and official ballot drop boxes, help protect voters from threats and intimidation, and make sure every valid ballot is counted.
