Thanks for your interest in the Young Democrats of Oregon Caucus. Our mission is to encourage young people across Oregon to take active roles in their communities through community engagement, policy advocacy, direct political action, and to promote the ideals and philosophy of the Democratic Party.
We strive to promote candidates, ballot measures, and policies that advance economic, environmental, and social justice for all Oregonians. We are committed to empowering, preparing, and advancing young leaders in the Democratic Party; and to increasing the number of young elected officials in Oregon.
We do this to protect the civil and human rights of every Oregonian and to ensure that Oregon remains a healthy, prosperous, free, and fair community for all people.
The Young Democrats of America (YDA) is the largest youth-led, national, partisan political organization. YDA mobilizes young people under the age of 36 to participate in the electoral process, influences the ideals of the Democratic Party, and develops the skills of the youth generation to serve as leaders at the local and national level.
YDA has chartered chapters in 46 states and U.S. territories with over 1,500 local chapters. Their 150,000+ members – including middle school, high school and college students as well as young workers, young professionals and young families – reflects the broad diversity of our nation and the Democratic Party.
