Young Democrats of Oregon Caucus

1. Caucus Mission

The purpose of Young Democrats of Oregon is to:

  • Represent young Democrats and elevate our voices within the Democratic Party of Oregon.
  • Register young voters as Democrats.
  • Recruit and support the election of all Democratic candidates, in particular young Democrats who are under the age of 36.
  • Support or oppose the passage of ballot measures or DPO resolutions that have a disproportionate impact on young Democrats.
  • Foster relationships between caucus members and Democratic elected officials.

 

2. Membership
Any registered Oregon Democrat under the age of 36 who supports the purpose of Young Democrats of Oregon may become a member of the caucus.
  • Those under the age of 36 who reside in Oregon and support Democrats but are unable to register to vote in Oregon for any reason, including immigration status, may become a member of the caucus by duly signing up on the official YDO webpage and affirming their intention to register to vote in Oregon as a Democrat once legally able.
  • Those not yet of age to register to vote who reside in Oregon may become a member of the caucus by duly signing up on the official YDO webpage and affirming their intention to register to vote in Oregon as a Democrat once legally able.
Unless otherwise noted, YDO meetings and activities are open to all Democrats.

4. General Membership Meeting
YDO General Membership meeting is in-person and occurs quarterly in conjunction with the DPO State Central Committee meeting weekends. Hybrid option may be available. Meeting notice will be given to all members at least seven days prior to the meeting.
