DRAFT PLATFORM - SUBMIT FEEDBACK

Your DPO Platform Committee is pleased to share the First Draft of the 2025 Democratic Party of Oregon Platform. This year, the committee is trying something new—focusing on broad, clear, and accessible language to better reflect our shared values.

Some articles have had more editing than others, and the draft is very much a work in progress. But rather than wait until it’s polished, the committee wanted to hear from you early.

We’re also sharing a working list of LAIs submitted so far. These have not yet been edited or prioritized—please feel free to propose additions or changes.

We invite you to read the draft, reflect, and share your feedback.

Let’s build a Platform that reflects the Oregon we’re fighting for together.

Glossary of Terms

  • Article – A thematic section of the Platform (e.g., “Economy & Labor”)
  • Plank – A short values-based statement (max 50 words) within each Article
  • Legislative Action Item (LAI) – A policy action we recommend to state or federal legislators
  • Subject Committee – The group at Convention that prioritizes LAIs for each Article

Key Dates and Deadlines

  • July 6 – First round of feedback on the Platform and Legislative Action Items (LAIs) due
  • July 12 – Second Draft of Platform issued
  • July 20 – Final feedback due on Second Draft and LAIs
  • July 26 – Final Draft of Platform issued (no further changes until Convention)

Please note: It’s much easier to make your voice heard now than to wait until Convention, where changes require a petition signed by 50 attendees.
