The Democratic Party of Oregon has set diversity and representation goals for our delegation, as we want our delegation to be representative of Oregon’s diverse population.
These goals are based on Census data and other statistically significant data. Delegate candidates will be asked to self-identify which communities they belong to when they file, and we will ask convention participants to be mindful of this information when voting.
Our overall delegation will be equally divided between men and women, though the process is open to participation by democrats of all gender identities. Non-binary delegates, if elected, will not subtract from the overall gender balance of the delegation, and non-binary delegates will not be counted in male or female gender categories.
