State Central Committee Weekend Update

MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Upon an affirmative vote by the body of the Democratic Party of Oregon State Central Committee, the 2020 1st Quarter State Central Committee Meeting has been cancelled.

The Emergency Resolution voted upon and enacted by a 2/3rds voting majority of the SCC resolves that the items on the agenda for the 2020 1st Quarter State Central Committee Meeting shall be moved to consideration for the 2020 2nd Quarter State Central Committee Meeting on June 21st, 2020.

AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF OREGON
RESOLUTION NO. 2020-04
Regarding the Cancellation of the 1st Quarter 2020 State Central Committee Weekend

WHEREAS, On March 8, 2020, Governor Kate Brown declared a State of Emergency regarding COVID-19 Virus in the State of Oregon, and

WHEREAS, People of older age and/or with underlying health conditions are advised by health authorities to avoid public gatherings amid this public health crisis, and

WHEREAS,  The Democratic Party of Oregon prioritizes accessibility for all members for our State Central Committee Meetings, and

WHEREAS, Many of the Democratic Party of Oregon’s State Central Committee Delegates or Alternates are members of populations being impacted by the COVID-19 Virus, or live in households with people who are members of these populations;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF OREGON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. To cancel the State Central Committee Meeting Currently Scheduled for March 15th, 2020.

Section 2. To move items on the agenda for this meeting to consideration for the 2nd Quarter 2020 State Central Committee Meeting on June 21st, 2020.
