SD 1 Nominating Convention

A convention made up of precinct committee persons representing the precincts in Senate District 1 will meet and nominate one candidate to run as the Democratic Nominee on the November 2024 General Election Ballot. The nominee must fit the legal requirements for serving as a State Representative and be willing to hold the office. 

Should we only have one candidate for the seat, the PCPS are able to elect the candidate by acclamation, and we will meet over zoom on August 1st at 6pm. Should we have multiple candidates, we are required to hold an in-person convention with secure paper ballots. 

If required, we will set the date and location for an in-person convention for sometime in the first two weeks of August, and PCPS will have as much notice as possible of that date and time.

Candidates must file the Application for Candidacy with the Democratic Party of Oregon (DPO) by 5pm on July 25th, 2024.
