House District 38 Nominating Convention to be Held January 15

Democrats representing precincts within Oregon House District 38 will convene January 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM for a Nominating Convention to fill the seat of State Representative Chris Garrett, D-Lake Oswego, who has been appointed as a judge in the Oregon Court of Appeals.

The convention will be held at 7:00 PM at the Oswego Heritage House, at 398 10th Street in Lake Oswego, and will be chaired by Clackamas County Democratic Party chair Larry Skidmore. The press is invited to the convention.

At the Nominating Convention, Democrats representing precincts in House District 38 will choose three to five nominees to be submitted to the Clackamas County board of commissioners and the Multnomah County board of commissioners, who will choose one for appointment to the seat of State Representative for House District 38.

Democrats living within House District 38 who wish to be candidates must fill out a SEL 145 form and file it with the Democratic Party of Oregon by 5 p.m. on Jan. 14 in order to be considered. Information from the SEL 145 form establishes whether a candidate is able and legally eligible to serve as a state representative in the 38th district.
